IoT, Sensor, Communications seminar - Modelling IoT applications in cloud and fog simulation environments

Dec 9, 2021

A seminar titled “Modelling IoT applications in cloud and fog simulation environments” will be held online on December 15th from 16:00 – 17:00 as part of MILab’s IoT, Sensor, Telecommunications subproject’s online seminar series.

The speaker is Dr. Attila Kertész (Department of Software Engineering).

The lecture’s topic is summarized below:

Due to technological advances in the last decade, the number of smart devices has reached the order of billions today. Secure management and efficient processing of sensor data generated by these IoT devices poses new technological challenges. In addition to cloud data management solutions, dynamically available fog resources can lead to faster data processing, while blockchain solutions can enhance security. In our research, we have developed and evaluated fuzzy algorithms for more efficient execution in IoT-Fog-Cloud systems in the DISSECT-CF-Fog simulator. In the future, our goal is to develop learning algorithms that allow parameter tuning adaptive to environmental conditions.
