A new article titled “The Use of MQTT in M2M and IoT Systems: A Survey” has been published in IEEE’s multidisciplinary journal, IEEE Access.
The authors, Biswajeeban Mishra and Attila Kertész (SZTE Deparetment of Software Engineering), conducted a survey to examine how various M2M protocols have evolved in the last 20 years. They focus on the most widespread protocol, MQTT. The authors highlight its advantages and limitations while also putting together a taxonomy of MQTT brokers and client libraries to compare the properties and features of its various implementations.
Their research will help advise researchers in choosing the most suitable MQTT implementation for their IoT needs.
The paper is available in IEEE’s digital library.
