The article titled “Method Calls Frequency-Based Tie-Breaking Strategy For Software Fault Localization”, authored by Qusay Idrees Sarhan, Béla Vancsics, and Árpád Beszédes (Department of Software Engineering) was presented at this year’s SCAM conference.

In the article, the researchers attempt to find a solution to a weakness of Spectrum-Based Fault Localization (SBFL), namely that its scoring process produces many unhelpful ties (multiple methods with the same score). In the work, they present a technique based on method call frequencies that would resolve a significant amount of these ties.
