Ferenc Havasi has been at the University of Szeged since 1996, where he obtained his MSc in Computer Science in 2001. He studied as a PhD student from 2001 to 2004, focusing on embedded systems and free software related topic. He currently works as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Software Engineering. His special field is free software; not only does he teach related courses, but he also organizes national free software conferences. He and his small team are developing software. They have submitted code to the public source of the Linux kernel (flash file system). He has taken part and technically leads several research and development projects, such as Web-based metabolism information systems, mobile sensor framework development, Drupal-based Web portal and the WYSIWYG theme editor.
